Dana P. Basballe's career in financial services began shortly after he earned his Bachelor's Degree in Finance, with a minor in Economics, from St. Cloud State University in 1995. He worked for Prime Vest and Dain Bosworth in the Twin Cities for a couple years before accepting the position of Investment Officer at Peoples State Bank in Plainview in 1997 and worked for the bank until mid-2002.
In 2002 he became self-employed as an independent financial advisor (but still has an office located in the Peoples State Bank building in Plainview). In 2008 Dana received the Certified Financial Planning designation, what many consider to be the "gold standard" in financial planning. He and his wife, Melinda, have 3 children and reside in Rochester.
Dana has served our communities in the following ways.
- Served in the Minnesota Army National Guard as a Combat Medic from 1989 to 1998, achieving the rank of Sergeant
- Assistant Coach to the PEM Elementary wrestling program from 1997 through 2007
- Adult volunteer for Century varsity and elementary coach 2012 through the present
- Finance Committee member for the Girl Scout Council of River Trails from 1998 through 2007
- Officer of the Rochester Chamber of Commerce Toastmaster Too! Club, 1998 through 2020
- Member of Peace United Church of Christ in Rochester, Minnesota
- FCA flag football volunteer coach 2016 through the present
- Cub Scout leader Pack 83 2015 through the present
